Somebody Set Up Us The Bomb!

Well had yet another plaque added onto the order from yesterday. But onto something a bit more interesting. I put together a retirement trophy where the main piece was a bomb. Now don't get worried, it was an old deactivated and decommissioned piece. I hot glued the bottom to a rosewood base and attached a brass plaque to it. Seems it was to be a retirement gift for a retired army man who was a munitions expert. I never thought I would handle a bomb at any point in my life, much less while working putting together plaques and trophies. But being that there is an air force base down the street, I shouldn't really be surprised.

While I was at work today I finished working on a large project I got yesterday. Then I got a new one set on my table, it was five small plaques for one customer. But then they added on a larger plaque to the order. Then some sublimated plates, then some acrylic pieces. Finally they wanted another large plaque. It is a lot of stuff, but so far I have all day tomorrow to work on it. While this really isn't a frustrating situation for me I can only imagine what it's like on the one doing the engraving and processing all the orders. I know what it's like to deal with people constantly changing their minds.

We Got Something for You!

Me By Tabbie Wolf
Whenever my parents come home from running errands every so often they'll tell me "we have something for you". Usually it's something I needed anyway (toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper) or something they think I need but didn't really ask for. (cleaning products of some kind) I think they do this to get me excited and let me down, pretty much the only mind game they play that still works on me. Though many parents play mind games with their children. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the story of how whenever dad was bad he had to go to the ree in the backyard and pick out a branch to be beaten with. Then if it was too small, he'd be sent out to get another one.

Anyway back on topic. This time when they said "we have something for you" it was actually something good. Turns out while they were out at Target they found a Rock Band bundle for the Wii for $10 less than what most places would want for it. So they decided to buy it. I do feel a bit let down, however I didn't really pay for the game or microphone, just traded in a bunch of old stuff to get it. Which I'll be doing with the game I got. I'll keep the microphone though since it seems to work better than the one built into my computer for podcast recording. Just need to find a stand for it so I don't strain my arm.

Diner & New Links

I was up kind of early this morning and mom knocked on my door. Seems that since the kids were still up from last night she figured we might want to go out for breakfast. So we went to this place called "The Nautilus Diner" in Crofton. I ended up getting this dish called a french toast monte christo. It's basically two slices of french toast, on top was turkey and ham, and melted swiss cheese. Sweet and savory, my favorite kind of breakfast. Nothing much else today, just watched Infernal Affairs I got from netflix.

Also, if you go to my actual journal page you'll see I added a bunch of new links. Most of them are podcasts I listen to, so please check them out.
